We hope you like the fresh new 'little lagom' blog structure and if you have any ideas please feel free to send them through, we love hearing from you all.

We have put a mood board together to show several ways in which mint can be used. Mood boards are a great way to get the creative juices flowing. It is a great tool to always refer back to especially when you get 'idea-overloaded'.

I have been a little obsessed with the colour 'mint' that is trending right now. It's such a fresh colour and it's suitable for boys or girls at any age.

For a clean and whimsical look with a modern touch, mint looks great when teamed up with soft greys, white and timber tones. This colour scheme is great for nurseries and children's bedrooms.
For nurseries that like to indulge in a little more colour, mint is so versatile when combined with other pastel colours such as a blush pint pink and soft yellow.

What I love about mint is that it can really take on a contemporary or vintage theme which means this colour can grow with your bubs as they develop their own tastes and interests.
What do you think of mint? If anyone has used mint in their children's bedrooms please let us know (via Facebook) as we would love to see your creations!!!

super trooper studio

Supertrooper Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio based in sunny Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia. They produce beautiful and functional everyday objects celebrating Scandinavian design. Utilising traditional Swedish design values of quality, functionalism and simplicity they create unique, innovative design.

I am a huge fan of the iconic cushions of Melbourne, Sydney and New York. The graphics are great for Children (and even adults!). They are interesting because there are so many different illustrations that make up the entire graphics so look out for flying kites, steam engines, tree houses and fire trucks!

They Animal Friends Memory playing card game (as pictured above) introduce you to the  Conducting Penguin, the Knitting Koala, the Magic Whale, the Tap-Dancing Octopus, the Joking Jellyfish, the Juggling Fur Seal, the Roller-skating Funnel Web Spider and of course the Traveling Kangaroo with Little Joey. This is a great game to play with young children to develop their memory skills and a fun way to spend some of your play time!

machi by kukkia - minimalist children's toys

I absolutely love coming across design that makes you think and use your imagination. Machi by Kukkia is one of these designs that will get your children thinking outside of the box and letting their imaginations run wild!

We sourced this project from one of my favourite design blogs, Design Milk, check out what they had to say:

Machi is a minimalist children’s toy designed by Japanese-based firm Kukkia. Kukkia means ‘to bloom’ in Finnish and ‘kuki’ means stem in Japanese. The focus of their products is to provide children with tactile and vividly-colored shapes that are both fun and visually stimulating. They want kids to get involved and to use their imaginations to create, change and re-invent how toys are played with.

Machi is a clear example of Kukkia’s desire to motivate children to use their imaginations. The set includes 15 beautifully designed pieces that can be arranged and re-arranged at will. Kids can create their own town by using the two magnetic chalkboards and the provided eco-chalk. The 15 wooden pieces, which are made of beech wood, include a car, six trees, two traffic signals, three buildings, and two mountains.
The Machi collection comes in either the original, London, or Paris versions. The London version includes the Big Ben, the British Museum, the London Eye, a double decker bus, and a black cab. The Paris version includes the Eiffel Tower, L’Arc de Triomphe, and a miniature metro system. I am definitely a huge fan of well-designed products for the youth. Visual and audio stimulation in my earlier years has been a crucial factor in my eventual aptitude for design.
I totally recommend visiting the Kukkia website as it is full of adorable Japanese designed toys for children:
